Media Briefing on 2013 Corporate Payment Survey in China
The 2013 corporate payment survey in China. We started the survey in 2013 and this year was its 11th edition. During the briefing, Rocky Tung, APAC economist explained the deterioration of corporate payment in Chin in 2013. He also shared his view on the 2014 outlook and gave some analysis on different sectors. Five media attended the media briefings and the story was also covered by TVB Business News, the largest television broadcast station in Hong Kong.
Luncheon on 2014 Economic Outlook
Rocky Tung, Asia Pacific Region Economist for Coface was invited to a special luncheon hosted by the European Chamber of Commerce in Taiwan (ECCT) and the French Chamber of Commerce in Taipei (CCIFT) on 25 February. During the luncheon, Rocky shared his views on the global economic outlook for 2014. More than 30 guests from banks and European multinational companies expressed their interest on the economies of China and Europe in the question and answer session. The success of the luncheon enhanced our image of an insurer with solid economic expertise.
Seminar on Trade Credit Management: Challenge or Opportunity
On 20 February, Coface Korea and Coface China co-hosted seminar concerning “Trade Credit Management: Challenge or Opportunity” with the support of Korean Chamber of Commerce in Shanghai.
Jinhak Ryu, country manager of Coface Korea announced ‘2013 China Payment survey’ and economy forecast in Chinese market. During the seminar, we shared with payment behavior of Chinese companies, as well as tips on trade risks in 2014.
Around 30 participants attended the seminar, we collected 22 feedback forms. Most of participants are in charge of finance in Korean companies, they are interested payment behavior and they want to know how to reduce the trade risk.
A few companies showed interest in our insurance, therefore we have been trying to reach them.
The seminar has helped to introduce Coface and credit insurance to Korean companies in Shanghai.
5th Annual Global Export & Agency Finance 2014 – Asia Pacific
Hosted by Euromoney Seminars and Trade Finance, the conference aimed to address ECA backed financing as an important source of liquidity to sustaining global economic growth and how both regional and global players could take advantage of the opportunities within the Asia-Pacific region at both asset and country level.
Fabien Conderanne participated as a speaker to address the following: With Credit bubbles emerging in Asia, how do financiers balance risk and reward in ECA backed financing.
Coface Participates in the AOG Exhibition Conference
The Australasian Oil and Gas Exhibition & Conference (AOG) was the first major industry event of the international oil and gas calendar in 2014, providing a unique opportunity to see what’s new and build business connections with industry leaders. Bringing together more than 500 exhibitors from across 20 countries, it attracted over 15,000 visitors.
Coface Australia Branch participated in the event as one of the exhibiting companies under the French Pavilion managed by UBIFRANCE (French Trade Commission). Jodi Seah and Alex Hall represented Coface at the event and multiple networking opportunities.
Briefing for Students from Dauphine University of Paris
Coface Hong Kong hosted a briefing for twenty master degree students of insurance from Dauphine University of Paris. In the briefing, Richard Burton shared his view on Coface ambitions in Asia-Pacific region. Followed by Rocky Tung and Xavier Farcot who talked on the on the macro-economic trend and explained the techniques of risk underwriting assessments. The students also actively participated in the question and answer session. The professors accompanying the group told us that it was a good sharing for the students to understand credit insurance and Coface’s development in Asia.
